Abstract
: Long鄄term stable economic growth demands the unification of the quantity and the quality. On the basis of the in鄄
terpretation and analysis of the quality of economic growth, and the construction of a system of index for assessing the quality of e鄄
conomic growth, this paper has conducted an empirical analysis of regional characteristics of our country's economic growth quality
on the space and time dimensions using methods of factor analysis and cluster analysis. The research findings show that the char鄄
acteristic of regional imbalance on our country's economy growth quality is quite apparent from 1985 to 2012. The level of eco鄄
nomic growth quality of the eastern regions is significantly higher than that of the central and western regions, and this imbalance
remain unchanged in thirty years. What's more, the polarization of economy growth quality exists among the provinces in the east鄄
ern regions.
