      年政府工作报告提出,要促进国有企业聚焦主责主业。数字经济时代,独特的技术优势为上述目标的实现提供了可能路径。基于2007—2022年中国A股国有上市公司数据,实证检验了数字化转型对国有企业聚焦主业的影响及作用机制。研究发现:数字化转型抑制了国有企业非相关多元化经营,促使其聚焦主业；数字化转型通过加大长期投资、减少高管在职消费、提升内部控制质量促使国有企业聚焦主业。异质性分析发现,上述促进作用在地方国企、特定战略功能定位的国企中表现得更加明显。因此,在做强做优做大国有资本和国有企业的总体背景下,应当坚定不移地实施数字化转型战略,同时要根据国企所属层级及其战略功能定位,分层分类施策,促进国有企业聚焦主业,实现国有经济高质量发展。

      The Report on the Work of the Government in 2023 underscores the necessity for state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to focus on their primary responsibilities and core business. In the era of the digital economy, distinctive technological advantages offer viable pathways for realizing this objective. Based on the data of A-share listed SOEs in China from 2007 to 2022, this study empirically examines the impact of digital transformation on SOEs' focus on their core business and its mechanisms. The study reveals that digital transformation inhibits the extent of unrelated diversification in SOEs, thereby prompting them to focus on their core business; this inhibiting effect is achieved by increasing long-term investment, curtailing executive company-paid consumption, and improving the quality of internal controls. Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the inhibiting effect is particularly pronounced in local SOEs and SOEs with specific strategic functional roles. Therefore, within the overarching framework of helping state capital and SOEs get stronger, do better, and grow bigger, we should resolutely implement a digital transformation strategy. Simultaneously, we must tailor our approaches according to the hierarchical levels of SOEs and their strategic functional roles in order to facilitate their focus on core business and achieve high-quality development of the state-owned economy. 
